Between June and July 2021, during a field survey in Agadir province, southern Morocco (30°20′37.8″ N, 9°26′38.2″ W), the parasitic plant Phelipanche tunetana was found parasitizing Brassica oleracea var. gemmifera L. (brussels sprouts, Brassicaceae) plants.

African eggplant (Solanum aethiopicum gilo group) is a nutritious vegetable widely commercialized in Ghana. In the 2021 planting season (May to July), collar rot symptoms were observed on African eggplant on a farm at Domeabra, Legon, and Okumaning in the Central (5°48′11″N, 1°26′48″W), Greater Accra (5°39′34″N, 0°11′34″W), and Eastern (6°8′34″N, 0°55′59″W) regions of Ghana, respectively.
