Over 4,000 Kenyan Flowers Embark on a '520' Journey to Hunan
On May 16th, more than 4,000 Kenyan flowers were transported from Nairobi to the Changsha Huanghua International Airport via belly cargo. After the inspection and quarantine by the Changsha Huanghua Airport Customs, these flowers were released and embarked on a journey to meet Hunan consumers in time for "520" (May 20, a day symbolizing love in China with its phonetic similarity to "Wo Ai Ni" in Chinese ).
Kenyan roses, renowned for their large buds and vibrant colors, have been popular with domestic consumers. This shipment includes 2,494 roses, 1,400 alstroemeria, and 250 delphiniums. According to the person in charge from Hongxing Agricultural Products Supply Chain Management (Hunan) Co., Ltd., this order was finalized during a recent business trip to Kenya. The trial shipment is set for the eve of May 20th, with the hope of bringing more surprises and romance to Hunan consumers.
To support the rapid clearance of high-quality flowers imported from Kenya, the Changsha Huanghua Airport Customs guided the company through pre-declaration of cargo information, ensuring swift processing upon arrival. A "green channel" was provided for this batch of imported flowers, further reducing clearance time.
