On September 26th, a batch of Kenyan dried sea cucumbers, weighing 300 kg, arrived at Changsha Huanghua International Airport. After on-site inspection and customs clearance by the Changsha Huanghua Airport Customs, the dried sea cucumbers were made available for sale in the local market on the same day. It marks China’s first import of dried sea cucumbers from Kenya, following the approval of market access for Kenya wild aquatic product to our country.

The head of the importing company noted that sea cucumbers, known for being high in protein, low in fat and low in cholesterol, has enjoyed growing popularity among Chinese consumers. Traditionally, China’s sea cucumbers have been mainly imported from regions like North America and Northern Europe. This successful import of Kenyan dried sea cucumbers diversifies the country's import channels. The company intends to continue imports based on market feedback in the future.
