On March 16, under the supervision and clearance of Yueyang Customs affiliated to Changsha Customs, the first batch of 12 Chinese used vehicles from Yueyang was loaded at Chenglingji Port and shipped to Togo, Africa, via water-water transshipment.
According to the head of Yueyang Customs, the opening of the export route linking Chenglingji Port in Yueyang with Togo further expands export channels for used vehicles from Hunan Province, providing a new impetus for used vehicle exports from central China and for Hunan's economic and trade cooperation with Africa.
As an emerging market in Africa, Togo enjoys a strategic location and active entrepot trade, with its market reach extending to multiple West African countries and strong demand for automobiles and spare parts. To strengthen the supply chain for automotive exports to Africa, Yueyang Guansheng Investment Development Co., Ltd. and Yueyang Chisheng Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. are cooperating with local partners to build a large-scale overseas warehouse for vehicles near the port, the first of its kind in West Africa operated by Chinese companies. Spanning 12,000 square meters, the facility integrates bonded storage, customs supervision, and distribution functions, supporting bonded warehousing for automobiles, motorcycles, and spare parts. This will effectively reduce capital occupation and operational costs for enterprises, providing solid overseas support for the regular export of used vehicles. According to the heads of the companies, Chinese used vehicles are gaining widespread recognition in the African market for their high cost-effectiveness, reliable quality, and high adaptability.
The 12 used vehicles exported in this batch cover multiple brands and models, all selected based on consumer demand in the African market. (By Yao Wei)
