AddA 27-tonne shipment of block-frozen chicken breast, produced by C. P. Food (Zhanjiang) Co., Ltd., has cleared through customs inspection and quarantine by Zhanjiang Customs and is currently being loaded at Shekou Port in Shenzhen bound for Somalia, as released by Zhanjiang Customs in south China’s Guangdong Province on the 25th. This marks the first export shipment of poultry meat from Zhanjiang to Somalia.
C. P. Food (Zhanjiang) Co., Ltd. is the first fully integrated broiler industry project established in South China by Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group. The company offers more than 130 product categories, supplying markets in Zhanjiang, the Pearl River Delta region, Guangxi and Hainan, as well as exported to nearly 20 countries and regions since 2023, including the first export of poultry products to Georgia in 2024.
In recent years, Zhanjiang’s poultry industry has steadily expanded its footprint in Africa, breaking into emerging markets including Angola and Gambia. To facilitate smooth exports to the continent, Zhanjiang Customs joined forces with the Zhanjiang Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs to establish Zhanjiang Agricultural Products Export Service Center. The initiative has included dedicated policy briefings, streamlined processing of farm registration, and support for enterprises in improving their quality management systems—efforts aimed at safeguarding the quality and safety of exported poultry while enhancing market competitiveness.
Statistics show that Zhanjiang exported a total of 2,019.4 tonnes of poultry in 2025, up 14.6 percent year on year. (By Liang Sheng and Fu Zhijie)
