Fujian’s Trade with Africa Gains Robust Momentum with 18.78% Growth in First Three Quarters

According to statistics from Xiamen Customs, Fujian Province recorded 79.772 billion CNY in trade with Africa in the first three quarters of 2025, up 18.78% year-on-year, sustaining strong growth momentum. Exports to Africa reached 47.479 billion CNY, an increase of 18.91%, while imports stood at 32.293 billion CNY, up 18.58%.

In terms of product structure, mechanical and electrical products and labor-intensive goods jointly drove the province’s export growth to Africa. During the period, Fujian’s exports of mechanical and electrical goods to Africa surged by 21.95% to 19.053 billion CNY, accounting for 40.13% of total exports. Notably, automobile exports recorded a remarkable 2.39-fold increase to 2.872 billion CNY. Exports of high-tech products amounted to 1.575 billion CNY, an increase of 15.96%. 

By business type, private enterprises played a leading role in boosting Fujian's trade with Africa, with their import and export value reaching 50.23 billion CNY in the first three quarters, a year-on-year increase of 20.08%, accounting for 62.97% of the total.

Over the first three quarters, Fujian exported to 57 African countries, with South Africa, Nigeria, and Egypt being the top three trading partners. Exports to these countries reached 5.211 billion CNY, 5.169 billion CNY, and 3.495 billion CNY, respectively. During the same period, exports to Senegal, Cameroon, and Tunisia saw substantial growth of 77.48%, 77.72%, and 68.30%, respectively. In terms of imports, Fujian's imports from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Africa, and Guinea amounted to 9.35 billion CNY, 7.295 billion CNY, and 4.229 billion CNY, registering year-on-year growth of 23.91%, 0.72%, and 91.24%, respectively.
