Hunan’s Foreign Trade Hits 437.17 Billion CNY in First Ten Months

According to statistics released by Changsha Customs, the total import and export value of Hunan Province reached 437.17 billion CNY in the first ten months of 2025. Exports totaled 262.89 billion CNY, while imports stood at 174.28 billion CNY.

In the first ten months, 8100 enterprises across Hunan Province engaged in import and export activities, representing a 7.2 percent year-on-year increase. The number of enterprises with actual import and export operations has remained above 8000 for four consecutive years since 2022.

From January to October, Hunan's import and export value with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative stood at 256.65 billion CNY, an increase of 0.4 percent, accounting for 58.7 percent of the province's total foreign trade. This share is 7 percentage points higher than the national average. Trade with ASEAN (11 member states) and Africa reached 80.47 billion CNY and 48.85 billion CNY, up 4% and 17% year-on-year, respectively. Hunan's trade with Africa ranked first among all central and western provinces.

In the first ten months, Hunan's export of mechanical and electrical products reached 152.22 billion CNY, growing by 1.7 percent and accounting for 57.9 percent of the province's total exports. Exports of automobiles (including chassis) and the "new three" products reached 26.13 billion CNY and 15.41 billion CNY, up 17.3 percent and 78.3 percent year-on-year, maintaining strong growth momentum for six consecutive months and 13 consecutive months, respectively. In October alone, exports of these two categories surged by 14.5 percent and 87.5 percent. Additionally, the province's exports of high-tech products hit 32.06 billion CNY, a significant increase of 26.3 percent, contributing to 12.2 percent of total exports. Exports of construction machinery, rail transit equipment, and aerospace equipment rose by 6.6 percent, 30.3 percent, and 50.1 percent, respectively. During the same period, exports of agricultural products and labor-intensive products reached 13.87 billion CNY and 23.02 billion CNY, respectively.
